SmartHire.ca™ allows you to identify and separate the truly excellent candidates, and to understand some of the background issues that may influence your new hire. Reference Checking consists of gathering and verifying objective, relevant evidence and information regarding a specific candidate. SmartHire.ca personnel are trained to follow the proven SmartHire.ca reference checking procedures - it is critical to ask the right people the right questions. All SmartHire.ca candidates are required to sign a waiver permitting SmartHire.ca's personnel to contact the candidate's references and others who have knowledge of the candidate's prior work performance. These waivers serve as written permission to speak with others about a candidate. It is important that reasonable care still be used, i.e. conversations must be career-related and confidentiality must be respected. Credit History is relevant in positions where access to business' finances is an integral part of the candidate's responsibilities. SmartHire.ca provides a credit history summary, as reported by Canadian and / or U.S. credit agencies, for short-listed candidates.
