With over 50 years of combined management experience, the SmartHire.ca^® team of human resource professionals is familiar with, and understands the mid-western Canadian labour market and the unique needs of employers.

Grasslands Group of Companies currently trades as:

• Grasslands Recruitment Specialists (GRS) for Executive Search services for staffing and objective, work-related testing and assessments

• SmartHire.ca® for recruitment process outsourcing activities

Regardless of the business name, our focus is to support our clients in obtaining talent and, ultimately, acquiring results. We focus on the attraction, retention, and development of ‘A’ and ‘B’ players. Since 1993, we have earned the right to serve clients throughout North America; although our primary focus has been Western Canada and its niche of primary industries.

From 1993 to 1998, we traded as Grasslands Training Group providing re-employment and career transition services; plus computer, safety, and business training. During that period we facilitated career transition services into Saskatchewan and southern Alberta, assisting 1100 people through career transition. We administered hundreds of career related tests during this period.

Our experience demonstrated that career surveys and assessments revealed objective data for out-placed individuals and the program facilitators. There was an acceptance to third-party reports and it opened communication.

In 1995 we made a business decision to wind down the training division and to develop a search and assessment business. Since that time, we have successfully worked with clients in a number of industries. While working with our clients, we identified a business need for Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO). This need has evolved into our SmartHire.ca® business unit.
